Site Design
Design
The site-wide components and recurring visual motifs.
Visual System
A compact visual system
- Cards: Main content sections are grouped into compact bordered cards so notes, projects, affiliations, and details stay scannable.
- Typography: Space Grotesk handles interface text while IBM Plex Serif gives longer reading an editorial voice.
- Color: Dark navy surfaces and cool blue accents create a quiet, space-oriented contrast.
- Starfield: A deterministic canvas background represents space and adds depth without competing with the content.
- Seigaiha: A precise tiled SVG adds a Japanese visual reference to the homepage affiliation cards at low opacity.
- Sakura: Animated cherry-blossom petals and flowers add a Japanese seasonal accent to the homepage notes section.
- Marks: Affiliation logos and Auric's matrix mark identify the organizations and projects represented on the site.
- Site chrome: Compact navigation, responsive layouts, contact modules, and a media-backed footer provide persistent structure.
- Interaction: Small lifts and quick transitions show affordance while reduced-motion support keeps them accessible.
